HSU completely transformed this 10,000 square foot school, treating the girls of the prestigious Holton-Arms School to a big surprise upon returning from summer break-a gorgeous new dining room and servery, and a state-of-the-art kitchen. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of HSU, the major renovation was performed completely over the few months of summer vacation and required crews to work round-the-clock for weeks on end to meet this daunting deadline. The efforts have not gone unnoticed; the Owner, students, and parents were thrilled with the new space and HSU was honored with an Award of Excellence at the 2012 Washington Contractor Award gala for this project
The school was open during construction, and HSU provided alternative traffic lanes and administered the highest level of safety to protect staff, students, and visitors who were still using the facility during construction. The dark and dated space was transformed into an open, bright, and artistic multi-purpose area, and is now flooded with natural and energy-saving lighting
HSU performed a complete overhaul of the historic entry area including a new glass entryway, new stairs with custom railings, and new administrative offices. HSU is proud to have completed this spectacular project, especially under such a critical schedule.
